Trainers Rob and
Tami joined forces in
September 2006 to open their training facility in Austin, MN. The two
bring years of training experience, expertise and horse ownership.
If you have a horse that bucks, rears, spooks, won’t clip, load or the
myriad of other problems that horse owners encounter, then Hook and Tami
can provide the solutions. They will also "start" your horse so you finish
it yourself if you prefer.
Hook, formerly of the Minnesota Horse Training Academy in Ogilvie, MN, and
independent trainer Tami, of Fargo, ND, specialize in putting an excellent
foundation on horses that will maximize the horse’s ability to reach
his/her potential in any chosen discipline. They also train trail horses
to their fullest potential for either show or trail and re-train problem
horses.
The team stresses the philosophy of “getting into the horse’s mind.”
“Our motto is ‘Training the Mind, Body and Spirit,’ of the horse,” says
Tami. “Any horse that has gone through our program will be equipped to
handle nearly any discipline they choose provided the horse is physically
adept in that specific field. We believe in letting the horse ‘tell’ us in
which discipline they are best suited. Just because you may want your
horse to be western pleasure horse doesn’t mean it can be. It might be
more suited for reining, trail or endurance, for example.”
As part of their training procedure, all horses are checked prior to
training for any signs of physical problems with the Sumerel Therapy
System(tm) STS-2, (the light therapy system that can pinpoint and treat
physical problems with light therapy). The first scan and treatment is
included with the training.
They accept any age and breed of horse, but reserve the right to decline.
Current limited openings. Signed contract required. Training rates include
board. All horses are fed HS-35 (www.hs35.net) as a part of their feeding
program. Equine nutritional consultant on staff.
