RW Evening Star (Eve) (Road Warrior x Follow My Star)
DOB: May 1, 1997
We are excited to have the opportunity to breed Gold N Rio to the exquisite Russian/Crabbet mare, RW Evening Star, bred by Diamond D Acres. “Eve” is a combination of some of the greats in the breed—Gamaar, Niga, Comet, Aswan, Nazeer, Dalul, *Morafic, Bay-Abi, Priboj and Raffles to name a few.
This simply gorgeous mare is full bodied with a long neck, incredible top line, hip, shoulder and straight legs.
She is Back Street bred on the top side and out of a *Naturel daughter on the bottom. (pedigree available on www.allbreedpedigree.com)
Her maternal grandsire, *Naturel (by *Mag, a Dutch and French National Champion), was bred by the Kossack Stud in the Netherlands, imported to the U.S. by Howie Kale Jr., and later purchased by Lasma. He was a five-time U.S. and Canadian National Top Ten Stallion, a Scottsdale Supreme Champion and multiple regional champion.
Eve’s great grandsire, Back Street (*Eter x Star Of Erka [Al-Marah bred]), was a multiple halter champion including a U.S. National Reserve Champion Futurity Colt. One of his most famous offspring was, perhaps, U.S. National Champion Mare NH Love Potion (out of a *Bask daughter), who sold for $2.55 million at Scottsdale in 1984. Back Street had several other U.S. and Canadian National performance winners as well.
Eve will be bred for a 2011 foal. Her foal will be available in utero for a predetermined price with a signed contract and down payment. Terms are available.

Dream
Dream was the culmination of “finally!” meaning we finally got her dam in foal. After years of trying and many thousands of dollars later (the stud fee was peanuts compared to the vet, board and transport costs over the next few years), I finally figured out what was wrong—she ovulated on the first day of her heat cycle! Rare, maybe, but true. When I quit listening to the vet and insisted she be bred the first day of her heat cycle—voila! We had a foal 11months and some days later! (Her dam [again bred on the first day of her heat cycle!!] later produced another outstanding ¾ Arabian filly that won two world Pinto championships and one reserve in open, amateur and youth western pleasure along with a top ten in halter)
Dream’s sire was a beautiful chestnut overo Paint stallion that had been shown and won many innumerable championships in trail, western pleasure and reining on the Paint circuit. He was a very refined stallion that we adored.
Since we started out with a financial deficit, why stop!! When we decided to put her in training, our trainer suggested that we sweepstakes nominate her. Since it was after the fact and since neither her sire nor dam was sweepstakes nominated, another $1500 for her sweepstakes nomination was added to the growing account. When she won her halter class at her first Class A Arabian show, off she went to Region VI Arabian Show in Billings, MT where she again won the championship. It was rare, and probably still is, for a Half Arabian Paint cross to win against Saddlebreds, but win she did under a three judge system. Add in her OVERO pattern, which was almost unheard of at the time, and it, to some extend, “made history.”
She was headed to the U.S. Nationals when she contracted strangles (from the Region VI show) and couldn’t compete.
Dream was later trained under saddle and has been trail ridden. Her trainer indicated that she had an aptitude for reining.
In 2005, Dream produced a Magnum Psyche filly that was later sold to an Arabian farm in Midlothian, Virginia, and, in 2007, a chestnut overo filly, Gold N Karma, by Gold N Rio, currently for sale (see photos on the Arabian Kids page).
Dream needs a “job” instead of standing in our pasture and is for sale to the “right” home.
Heavenly Rosebud Sire: *Paarden Dam: CVA Ciara (by Son Glo [*Padron])
Foaled: 03/31/1997

* Purebred Arabian Mare
*Class A Western Pleasure Winner
Heavenly Rosebud
I have loved the *Paarden-bred horses from the first time I saw *Paarden’s photo in a 1983 ad in The Arabian Horse Times and then later, in person, with his trainer Jerry McCrae back in 1984 in Rochester, MN.
So when we purchased the purebred Arabian mare CVA Ciara (Son Glo x Jomahna, by Mensch) in 1995, there was no doubt to whom she would be bred. An exquisite-headed mare that often stopped people in their tracks, Ciara was a beautiful blend of Russian and Crabbet bloodlines with a dash of Egyptian.
Paarden’s beauty, conformation, athletic ability, and excellent disposition were a perfect complement to her.
*Paarden
Bred by M. Blaauwhof Van Hellenberg Hubar, Paarden was born in Zijtaart, Netherlands on May 12, 1979, and imported as a weanling to the United States by Bob Stratmore,
who also imported his 7/8 brother, *Padron.
As a yearling, he had a short halter career with Brad Gallun of Bethesda Farms and won at various California shows.
Shortly thereafter, Dean and Mary Lou Hindal of Minnesota purchased him and went into training with Jerry McRae of O’Mac Stables of Red Wing, MN, who showed him in Open Western Pleasure. He was also shown in Western Pleasure AOTR by the Hindal’s daughter.
In 1988, Larry and Shirley Ellis of Red Rock Arabians, Lytton, IA purchased *Paarden+ and their daughter Ann showed him in Western Pleasure JOTR and later in side saddle and Western Pleasure AOTR. *Paarden+ received his Legion of Honor in 1997. (Information courtesy of Red Rock Arabians)
Heavenly Rosebud acquired her name as a thank you to divine intervention that literally saved her life while still in utero, a story later chronicled in the magazine Equus.
Rosebud was trained and shown in western pleasure as a four year old. She placed well in her first two shows until an eye injury sidelined her. Two incompetent veterinarians later, and she lost eyesight in one eye, (we later learned that a simple and inexpensive procedure could have saved her eyesight). She adjusted to her situation very well and is currently a pasture horse that gets ridden sporadically. She is available for sale or lease to the “right” home.
In turn, Rosebud has produced three beautiful offspring—two colts and one filly—all by the same stallion FC Casino Royale (a Fire An Ice grandson), who is a melding of Crabbet, Polish and Egyptian bloodlines. The last of this “Golden Cross,” Gold N Ice Glo, now a gelding, was born in 2007, and he currently resides with his new owners in Maine.
It is Rosebud’s first born son, Gold N Rio, who is our herd sire and the beginning of the “Gold N” horses.
